WHACK
Magazine is
produced by HRVic, the Victorian Drug User Organisation,
a non-judgemental organisation that actively seeks to address
the health, social and legal issues that affect drug users
in Victoria.
WHACK is a publication which seeks to play a role in harm reduction
by providing drug users with a free magazine that is written, designed,
and distributed for them and provides (amongst other things) accurate
information and discussion on issues that directly relate to their
lives.
The primary role of WHACK is the provision of detailed and useful
harm reduction information. Due to the diversed and marginalised
nature of the drug user community, this information is written
and presented in such a way as to be widely understood, have lasting
impact, and is written from a peer perspective. This information
takes a vast array of forms, from informative articles and interviews
to comics, and covers most of the relevant topics in the commuinty.
