WHACK Magazine is HRVic’s flagship publication.
A magazine written and designed by people who use drugs for people who use drugs.
WHACK is an integral part of HRVic and our mission to advance the health and human rights of people who use drugs.
We believe that WHACK has an important part to play by providing drug users with a free platform for our community to be able to express their thoughts and feelings and that delivers factual information about issues that directly relate to our lives.
The primary role of WHACK is to provide relevant information about reducing the harms associated with drug use – in particular reducing the risk of HIV, hep C and hep B.
Due to the diverse & marginalised nature of our drug using community, the information is presented in such a way as to have wide appeal & lasting impact & to represent the different perspectives of a wide range of contributors – from peers to researchers.
The information takes on an array of forms- from the informative to the ridiculous – and everything else in between.
We are constantly on the search for new ways to share our harm reduction messaging and to extend the reach of that message- all while staying true to our roots.
If you or the people you work with feel you'd like to submit a story, news article, information or education please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Also if you are an artist or photographer and you'd like to submit your work for publication, please send a high resolution copy or scan to email@example.com.

BACK ISSUE LIBRARY
The library of magazines you see before you represents the vast body of work that HRVic’s dedicated workers & volunteers have created over the last three decades. Back issues of the magazine are provided in digital form for ease of access & in order to spread the harm reduction message as widely as possible.
To use, just click on the cover of the issue you wish to view & it will download as a virtual magazine. We have endeavored – through much trial and error – to keep the size of each issue as small as possible, while keeping the resolution sharp. I
We are in the process of linking each magazine with the PDF for your downloading convenience. Please bare with us while we get them all loaded for you.
