'Fixed Ideas'- Community Consultation on the Drug Checking Fixed Site service
Victoria has legalised drug checking and this much needed health service is here for good!
An 18th month “implementation trial” of this particular model of drug checking service, is currently underway and Harm Reduction Victoria is one of 3 important partners running it, along with The Loop Australia and YSAS.
In this current model trial, there are two types of services:
Mobile services: aka. ‘pop ups’, will be at festivals and events throughout the state this summer's festival season. We will attend up to 10 festivals and events throughout the trial period.
Fixed-site service: Exactly as it sounds. At a permanent location, that is open regularly to the public. The fixed-site service will be in inner Melbourne and is due to open mid-2025. It will be located close to nightlife and public transport.
Join us for an engaging community consultation at Harm Reduction Victoria to discuss the Drug Checking Fixed Site service.
Your input is crucial in shaping the future of this project.
Let's come together to share our ideas, concerns, and suggestions.
This in-person event is a great opportunity to have your voice heard and make a difference in our community.
The first consultation, focuses on feedback for the “Fixed Site Assessment Criteria” as the Consortium running the service and our funding body, the DoH, start finalising the fixed-site options and inspections.
The consultations will also include the presentation of the service's mission and values, and feedback of it and also feedback on data-sharing strategies as the Consortium develop them.
Consultations are available at two session times to increase accessibility.
We look forward to seeing you there!
