Health Promotion Officer – Workforce Focus

This position is a peer education role that includes but is not exclusively aimed at sector workforce support activities. HRVic is a peer organisation and peer education & support activities are our priority.

Workforce training is focused on ensuring that our community receives best practice, non-stigmatising services.

Hours per Week: 30.4 hours (0.8 EFT)

Award Classification: SCHADS 3-4 - Dependent upon personal and work experience & qualifications

Health Promotion Officer – Community Focus

Position Objectives:

  • To develop and deliver peer education about preventing blood borne virus transmission, especially Hep C and HIV, to people who inject drugs

  • To undertake health promotion activities for our community of people who inject drugs

  • To undertake community development activities 

  • To help improve access to appropriate health and social services related to viral hepatitis such as testing & treatment for hepatitis C

  • To build capacity in community via peer volunteers and networks.

Service Officer

Pharmacotherapy Advocacy Mediation and Support (PAMS)

Harm Reduction Victoria (HRVic) is seeking a non-judgemental person with excellent communication skills to join our Pharmacotherapy Advocacy Mediation and Support (PAMS) team. Please note, this is largely a client-facing role and the employment will be on a casual basis.

The Pharmacotherapy Advocacy Mediation and Support (PAMS) service is a state-wide, telephone-based service that provides mediation, support, advocacy, referral, and information for those involved with treatment for opioid dependence (methadone and buprenorphine).
