About the event
THURSDAY 31st AUGUST is International Overdose Awareness Day and to celebrate the lives of the loved ones we’ve lost -add to our memory wall - and to practise the most important -but usually the most forgotten about - harm reduction tool we have in our arsenal: CONNECTION WITH EACHOTHER. Come and check out our new NSP and office, Send a 'Wish You Were Here" Memorial Photo postcard to your loved ones whove crossed due to overdose in our schmancy photoboof, get a FREE NALOXONE KIT and learn how to use it , maybe learn how to check your drugs with a reagent test (since we don’t have reliable lab testing in Victoria) from other people who use drugs , have a FREE FEED and chill out back and grab a beanbag and watch a movie in our new auditorium space on our big screen FREE . The movie is a doco called “ Smokey Devil- Underworld Street Reporter” about an old school Canadian graffiti writer in Vancouver’s downtown Eastside , who uses his art to raise awareness of the overdose crisis and other problems facing his community. Should be dope. FESTIVITIES START AT 12 noon. #seeyouthere #ioad23 #hrvic #doinitforourselves
