TRAINING

HRVic provide
practical education & training
from the unique peer-spective
of people with living & lived experience
of substance use.

COMING UP

ON the 1st OF EACH MONTH in 2024 at 4:30pm on ZOOM

Opioid Overdose
Recognise & Response
Using Naloxone

EACHmnth_10x10.png

This workshop focuses on how to recognise the signs of opioid overdose and how to respond using naloxone- the opioid reversal medication, in all it's forms- Prenoxad®- an injectable multi dose (in one syringe) or Nyxoid®-a single dose nasal spray.

HRVic’s naloxone training differs from other naloxone training in that you are being trained by someone with lived or living experience of injecting drug use and we insist on providing participants with our HRVic naloxone kits at the end of the training session.

HRVic’s first priority is to put naloxone kits into the hands of those who need it most- people who currently inject opioids or the people who live with them. We do however understand the need for drug use to remain anonymous in the majority of cases as prohibition remains our biggest most threatening harm.

All participants of Online Naloxone Training receive a FREE HRVic Naloxone Kit.

If you are attending and belong to a service or other org who work with PWUD and would like a free naloxone kit-  email janed@hrvic.org.au stating this and we can give you some other options.

Currently, we are using Zoom to do this online training. If you are not sure how to use Zoom or what it is, click HERE for instructions and more info. Its super easy.
